Cromico was appointed under Contract HO/PT/ENG/(E)/236/05/2023 to deliver the rebuilding, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 3kV DC traction and distribution equipment at substations along the Dunswart–Springs corridor for Metrorail Gauteng (Gauteng South Region), including the refurbishment of 3kV traction substations and associated 6.6/11kV AC distribution substations between Dunswart and Springs, over the period – October 2023 to February 2026; the works were inspected and confirmed complete for practical purposes in accordance with contract specifications and drawings, successfully passing final checks, testing and commissioning, and were formally handed over to PRASA and accepted for operations, with the site handed back and accepted, supported by site handover certificates for substations including Pollak Park 3kV Traction & 6.6kV Distribution, Schapensrus 3kV, Apex 6.6kV Distribution, and Apex 3kV Traction (handover dated 27 February 2026).
