Refurbishment of the OHTE 3KV system between Pretoria and Pienaarspoort in the Gauteng north region

Cromico Trading and Projects was appointed by PRASA Rail (Gauteng Region) to deliver the refurbishment of the 3kV Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE) system along the Pretoria–Pienaarspoort corridor in the Gauteng North Region under Contract 05-05-2021-GAU-(EL), a strategically critical commuter corridor that required rapid reinstatement in the post-COVID-19 recovery period; the works were executed and completed in record time, then inspected and confirmed complete for practical purposes in accordance with the contract provisions, having successfully passed final checks, testing and commissioning, and were formally handed over to Metrorail and accepted for operations, with the site handed back and accepted.
